During Pine Bluffs’ town meeting Monday night, a historical photographer informed the town council and visitors that Pine Bluffs will be one of many towns featured in his research project. Doc Thissen, student, photographer and historian, is traveling on the Lincoln Highway to photograph small towns in Wyoming. The Pine Bluffs Branch Library invited kids in kindergarden through 6th-grade to enjoy a day of Halloween fun on Tuesday, Oct. 21. Residents in Pine Bluffs have been asking why their water tastes like chlorine. Tom McDonough, Maintenance Supervisor with the Town of Pine Bluffs said chlorine is put into the town water during the summer and taken out for irrigation and harvest season. However, the chlorine hadn’t been taken out of the water supply yet. Chlorine is used as a disinfectant in the ground water pipes. The Touch-a-Tractor event provided local children the opportunity to explore tractors, emergency vehicles and trucks on Saturday at the Pine Bluffs Community Center. For the past 60 years, Pine Bluffs St. Paul's Catholic Church has hosted a fall dinner. The Council of Catholic Women will be cooking and serving a turkey dinner including salads, deserts and drinks. The Bushnell community is asking for contributions to help upgrade road signs. After the last Village Board Meeting in Bushnell, Norma Szobody, the secretary for the Community Center Board, volunteered to launch a fundraising project to raise money to replace the village's stop signs. Szobody said federal laws requires all villages and cities to have highly reflective signs to enable emergency vehicles to find addresses.
