Keystone, South Dakota as well as other places are now dealing with flooding. Other areas are still cleaning up with earlier floods or maybe destructive tornadoes. Our weather here has been pretty lousy off and on this past two weeks; however, I think we can count ourselves lucky considering how bad it is in those areas. Good morning! How has your garden grown? We have been blessed with cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, peppers … and my garden did not do very well. Friends gardens have, and I thank them for sharing. Last week I referred to our weather conditions as “a roller coaster ride”. Boy, if I had only known how true that was going to be a few days later. Definitely not a good time either. Torrents of rain, hail, and worst of all high winds that did unbelievable damage in a fairly short amount of time; it hit Banner County over the course of two nights and will take much more time than that for folks to repair all of the damage. The big news around here is school. Several track meets that had been cancelled due to snow were re-scheduled, plus district track. Amanda Harrision and David Gifford placed well at district and will be headed to Omaha for state competition this Friday, congratulations! Is spring finally here? By the forecast on my weather bug it seems to be. Good morning! Another week has blown by here in Banner County. We had a hard time having school last week due to snow and mud. When people end up in the barrow pit or stuck for hours, it is a good time to just stay home. After being re-scheduled three times the FFA Banquet was held Thursday evening.
