In this day and age people are clamoring for access. They want access to every bit of information about every person they know and know of. Google and Wikipedia and Bing all offer scads of information, be it accurate or not. We have Access Hollywood and the worst I think I have seen — TMZ, a mocking show bent toward making people look bad. We flock to CNN or MSNBC or FoxNews to get the latest report about who is dead, in jail, in court. We get angry when not enough is told, when the photos a...

Homecoming at Pine Bluffs was delayed due to the arrival of a winter storm last week. A report was released a couple years ago that showed the results of a survey done by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. The results were a tad disheartening. Asked 32 questions of varying difficulty about the world’s religions, Protestant and Roman Catholic respondents came out at the bottom of the learning curve — they couldn’t even provide correct information about their own religious beliefs. It’s pretty bad when you can’t name the first book of the Bible or the name of the Islamic h...

It makes a big difference in the score when the opposing team has more players than yours does. That truth played out Friday night when the Pine Bluffs Hornets traveled to Cheyenne East to play the sophomore squad. The Hornets lost the contest 16-40. “Their ability to sub in fresh bodies was the difference,” said Hornets head coach Will Gray. “Depth is going to be an issue for us.” That said, Gray added the players on his team “do a lot of great things.” The Hornets did a good job on defense...

Pine Bluffs Hornets head coach Will Gray is leading a hungry bunch of players this season — hungry for victory, that is. “We have a bunch of hungry kids who want to be successful,” Gray said. “Our future is going to be very bright.” This despite a difficult 2012 season that saw the Hornets with an 2-0 start that spiraled downward. “To be honest, I don’t remember any of the final scores,” Gray said of last season. “The kids played hard each and every play, but we just ran out of gas and things...

They were installed in 1936 and served all of those years. The museum also has several posters and mailers that advertised movies shown there. The museum...
