  • Fire stirred by wind takes CRP land

    Laramie County Fire District No. 3 of Albin responded to a grass fire on Sunday afternoon southwest of Albin. The fire was on County road 157 and 223. There was no damage to surrounding structures but about 25 to 30 acres of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) land was burned.     High West Energy has been serving our local community for many years now and every year they try to find new ways to donate and give back to the community.     Pine Bluffs Distilling recently announced their success in raising money for The Bar Bucks program in Laramie County For the 2020 Bar Bucks season, Pine Bluffs Distilling raised $4,760, with the help of the Pine Bluffs community.     The Knotty Pine Saloon was the scene of a crime. On Saturday February 13 around 7 p.m. a running vehicle was stolen from the Knotty Pine Saloon. The owner of the vehicle had left it running while they were inside the bar. When the customer prepared to leave they noticed their vehicle was gone from the parking spot.     The Burns town council recently held their February meeting on the 8th. Kayla Madler attended to express interest in renting the room next to her pre-existing room that she rents. Her request is to rent both rooms for $400 a month however, council member Judy Johnstone revised her rental rate to 34 cents per square foot bringing the total rent per room price to $240 per month in total for both rooms that would be $480.
