The village board meeting was held Wednesday, August 13. It was a fairly short meeting, with several items being tabled until next month or later. Jennifer Ivy has decided to wait until 2015 to pursue her kennel license. Dwayne Brackeen brought up traffic issues on 2nd Street. The board agreed to try placing stop signs in that neighborhood to see if that will help slow down cars. The Friends of the Kimball Library and the library board are hosting a pool party at the Kimball city pool from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 7. Entry to the pool is a free will donation. The village board met Wednesday, July 9. The health board met before the regular meeting and discussed tackling the issue of unlicensed vehicles as their next project. Ryan Reisdorff from South Platte Natural Resources District was in attendance to answer any questions on the public hearing for the Wellhead Protection Plan. The village board meeting was held last Wednesday. It was a short meeting with little to discuss. The board held the 3rd and final reading for the resolution to adjust water and sewer rates and then passed the resolution. Source Water Protection is offering grants to villages. The Bushnell Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, June 14. Classes ending in “4” are honored guests. The village board meeting was held on Wednesday, May 14. The health board recommended that the village replace the boards on the merry-go-round in the park. They also reminded residents that the tumbleweed wagon and burn barrel are available to use - just stop in the village office to borrow them. I have a fun story to share this week: someone who came through Bushnell two years ago looking for directions to the High Point bought a Bushnell t-shirt and wears it regularly. Dog licenses are due in April - hopefully you all saw the signs and made it to the discounted shot day for your pets on April 15.
