    After their heartbreaking loss to the Lady Outlaws the Lady Broncs traveled to Torrington to face the Lady Trailblazers. The Lady Trailblazers are seated number 2 in the 3A conference and have a 13-6 seasonal record. The Lady Broncs put up a good fight in the first match losing 25-21 but could not keep up the pace and fell 25-14 and 25-12 in the next two matches to lose the game 3-0.     The Pine Bluffs Roping Club must have made some kind of agreement with Mother Nature, as last Friday was another perfect night for roping. The temperature was not hot, no wind or rain and the arena was a bit dusty but great for roping. It was Burns homecoming and maybe some of the normal contestants might have been a bit pre-occupied.   • Pine Bowl Bowlers Score at State

    Over 40 bowlers traveled to the Cheyenne Red Lion for the Wyoming State Jamboree bowling tournament to compete for state titles. Two of the bowlers scored big. Tristen Zitek and Codel Charvat both won state titles. Codel Charvat, from Kimball, Nebraska bowls in a league at Pine Bowl here in Pine Bluffs. Charvat won the State Singles Scratch event championship. He received a nice plaque and bragging rights. Charvat bowled a 268, 266 and 264 totaling a 798 series for the singles championship....

  • Broncs Start Rebuilding

    The Burns Broncs football team will start to rebuild their team from the ground up. They have a new head coach Travis Romsa. Coach Romsa was the teams head coach a few years ago and was asked to come back and help rebuild the team. Coach Romsa did some recruiting from the school and hopefully got some good talent and personnel. It looks like the team will field about 40 players this year compared to the few that were there last year.     It’s hard to say that the Hornets football team had a disappointing season with a 6-3 record. However, being that they were undefeated in their first six games and were looking to go back to the state championship game, the end of the season was anything but satisfying. Bastian has been flying since 1966 and has been very active in building aircraft and flying acrobatics.     The Pine Bluffs Roping Club held another team roping competition last Friday evening. Although there were only 15 ropers the competition was fierce, and ropes were swinging.     The Lady Hornets are on the winning path to another showing at the state tournament. The Lady Hornets have won their seventh game in a row with a 2-3 win over the Mitchell Lady Tigers.
