Bowlers from all over the tri-state area competed in the Top Gun Scratch Tournament on February 29, and March 1. There were 62 bowlers from around the tri-state area competing for the top honors. On the first day, Saturday, bowlers were eliminated until they were down to 12 bowlers. Sunday, the 10th the top 12 bowlers set a good pace. Dorothy Mae Hinson was born May 03, 1927 in Monroe, N.C. to Gaither Winslow Hinson of Monroe, N.C. and Ester Emmalille (Purser) of Union County, N.C. and was one of six children.
