Wyoming’s emergency rule prohibiting commingling of poultry due to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been repealed, effective Monday, June 13. The rule was passed on April 19 by the Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) to limit the spread of HPAI. Since the initial diagnosis of HPAI within the US in February, the virus has spread across 36 states on 371 premises, affecting approximately 40 million poultry. Day two of the Carpenter Antique Tractor Pull got underway with great weather. The crowd was on hand to watch more antique tractors, and the pickups division. The music was flowing in down town Burns. On June 11th at 11 a.m. the start of six bands were playing for Burns Day. There were two stages, once one band was finished the next band was beginning. The music was non-stop for the whole time, up to 11 p.m. The first band was a two person band by the name of City Creek Band from Cheyenne. They performed cover songs and requests. There were several activities held during Burns Day. A bit of something for everyone. First was the 5K Walk/Run. There were about 15 people and one dog on the run. The bicycles were lined up on the street at 7 a.m. for the morning ride. The Pine Bluffs Lions Club put on their annual High Plains Ride for Sight on May 29th. There were 19 riders this year. The riders included children, families, and seasoned riders. First was breakfast at the Pine Bluffs Park. The riders had rolls, fruit, juice, and water. The music was flowing out of the doors of the Knotty Pine Saloon. The Knotty Pine has been featuring live music on Friday nights throughout the month of May. This night was the band Country Skillet out of Laramie, Wyoming. Country Skillet has been playing together for at least four years. They love to play the classic country music. There was splashing water, giggles and laughter at the pool on Thursday June 2nd at noon as the Pine Bluffs pool with a barbecue permeating the air was opening for the season. The bikes were lined up to show off their skills. On Thursday June 2nd at 10 a.m. the kids showed up at the Pine Bluffs Community Center parking lot for the annual Bicycle Rodeo. This event is for the youth to learn the rules of bicycling in town. Pine Bluffs Police Chief Chance Walkama demonstrated how to use hand signals on a bike. On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the Pine Bluffs FFA Chapter held its Annual Member Banquet. The tractors started up to get warmed up to wait in line for a chance to win the pull. In Carpenter Wyoming on June 4th through June 5th was the annual Carpenter Tractor Pull held every year the first weekend in June. The antique tractor and pick up pull is an all day event. Five Pine Bluffs Lions Club members were honored. On Saturday May 21st at 9 a.m. The Pine Bluffs Lions Club honored members who had passed away. Each Lions Club family was presented a brick with the Lions Club members name. The bricks will be placed at the memorial wall at the Allen H. Stewart Lions Camp in Casper, Wyoming. "Eye of the Storm" is a piece that was put in the Smithsonian Museum. Curt Theobald is a resident of this fine area and graduated from Pine Bluffs High School. Concerned again about the safety in town. The Burns Town council had a meeting May 23 at 5:30 p.m. For old business there were three subjects. First is the third reading of Ordinance 18A.46, fiscal year budget 2022/2023. The second was the second reading of Ordinance 16E.01(d). The third subject was a discussion of the generator.
