This is the first year for the Great Northern Livestock Expo held at the Archer Event Center in Cheyenne, WY. The competitors in the Laramie County arena did an incredible job. Rachel Derner has come down to the last competition for Miss Rodeo Wyoming. Derner is a graduate from Burns High School in 2015. She was in 4-H and Future Farmers of America throughout high school. The 2021 high school football season has come to an end but the Pine Bluffs Hornets continue their winning ways in the conference and state awards. Ten players were chosen to the All-Conference team with four more making Honorable Mention. The cars parked in Pine Bluffs Community Center on November 19th at 6:00 p.m. were not your average run of the mill vehicles. On November 11, 2021 Burns High School honored Veterans in the morning. The Future Business Leaders of America made and served a brunch to the veterans at the school. The drought of 2021 is now in full force in Laramie County. As of July we were the only county in Wyoming that was not being affected by the drought. At least most of the county. There were two small pockets in the extreme northeast and northwest corners that were in “abnormally dry” conditions.
