Cowboys have been reciting poems for centuries along with song ballads. This week is the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering held at Elko, Nevada from January 29th through February 3rd. Every year all the elementary schools in the Laramie County School District #2 area receive a kit for the students to be able to create for the contest. The kids and parents are always looking to improve and participate in their sport. This time of year rodeos are far and few in between, especially for the youth. On January 20th about five miles northwest on road 212 out of Pine Bluffs there was an indoor rodeo for the youth. Wednesday morning saw a big crash at mile marker 401 on Interstate 80 at 7:35 a.m. It was a very windy day. So the possibility of accidents was high for the day. Laramie County Fire District #5 was just finishing cleaning up an accident before the second accident occurred. This accident consisted of a cattle hauler that had been laid over.
