Every month the Burns Lions Club meeting is held on the first Thursday. This time it was on January 4th at 6:30 p.m. They had a big night of items to tackle with concerning the club. The beginning of the year means looking at rates during the council meeting. Burns Town Council met on January 8th at 6:30 p.m. The Utility Board met before the regular council meeting. They were looking at the rate numbers. They changed some of those numbers at the meeting. The board decided with a lot of discussion there were some changes needed. Burns had a young lady do so well in the Catch-a-Calf program and it is extremely exciting to see youth success in a program that has been going on for years. The Catch-a Calf program has been happening at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo., since 1935.
