Once a year on top of the bluffs in Pine Bluffs the kites are flying big and high. This was the seventh annual End of the Trail Kite Festival. Pine Bluffs Recreation gave out 100 kites free to the first kids through the line. Parents and grandparents were out with the kids teaching them how to set up a kite and how to fly a kite. Farm stands are always fun to go to and see what is new and fresh. The Lucky Buffalo Farm stand has opened up just east of the turn off at Hillsdale on the I-80 highway. It is fall with livestock judging in full force. Pine Bluffs Future Farmers of America went to Laramie County Community College to a livestock judging event. The members have an opportunity to use their judgement on what a judge would pick in a contest. CASPER, Wyo. (September 12, 2023) –Yellow starthistle, highly invasive weed, was discovered on private land in Natrona County in August. The Natrona County Weed and Pest District (NCWP) is currently overseeing the management and eradication of the weed. Now, the area is fenced off to keep most wildlife and all livestock out.
