On June 25, 1987, President Ronald Reagan began a presidential proclamation with the words “More and more Americans are discovering a uniquely American food delicacy — farm-raised catfish.” June 25 is National Catfish Day. It’s a day to enjoy fishing and some tasty fried catfish, or catfish cooked with your favorite recipe. My family loves to go fishing! This is a full week for the school children. On Friday, May 16 the fourth grade class will take the second half of their Wyoming History Field Trip to Ft. Laramie. Remember May Day and the tradition of giving May Baskets? Last night at 9 p.m. I heard a knock at the door. When I opened the door no one was there, but I found a little basket filled with all sorts of goodies, even treats for my dogs. I have not received a May Basket since I was a kid. Burns schools will have an early release April 17 to start their Spring Break that goes through April 21. Old School Café will be closed April 18 in honor of Good Friday. The café will also be closed on April 25 so Charlene can watch Derik swim at the regional games for the Special Olympics. These will be held in Cheyenne and many are going to cheer Derik on!
