Those that know of a family or individual in need or find themselves in need may apply for a basket from the Laramie County Community Christmas food basket program. According to Pine Bluffs program director Alisha Michaud, individuals can fill out the forms at the Pine Bluffs Town Hall and forms will be accepted until Dec. 8. Anyone can apply for a basket, but there is a limit to one per household. Pine Bluffs Senior Ruger Lewis was selected to the Casper Star Tribune's Super 25 team and was honored at a banquet Friday night at the Ramkota in Casper. The Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) is anticipating construction to begin on Interstate 80 (I-80) as early as summer of 2017 to rehabilitate the existing roadway, bridges and ramps in Kimball County. Pine Bluffs Senior Sierra Shelit was honored by the Wyoming High School Activities Association recently for her displays of good sportsmanship. According to the press release, Shelit was recognized by the officiating crew Debby Followell and Jeanne Scheneman of the Cheyenne Volleyball Officials Association. The Blessed Hope Baptist Church of Burns will hold its annual community Thanksgiving Meal in conjunction with the Rural Christmas Craft Show Nov. 19 at the Burns Plex, located on Main Street in Burns. According to Pastor Nathaniel Ensley of Blessed Hope Baptist, the church will sponsor the free Thanksgiving meal starting at 11 a.m. to members of the community. Secretary of State Max Maxfield released preliminary information on voter turnout in yesterday’s primary election. “Based on unofficial results from the county clerks, voter turnout for the primary election was 46 percent of those registered to vote,” Secretary Maxfield said. On Monday July 28 at approx. 9 a.m., Laramie County Fire District 5 responded to a call at the Oil Transfer Facility Fire on Road 154. Upon arrival, crews found a fire burning in a vapor burn-off stack and condenser. A 19-year-old Burns girl was killed, and four others injured, in a rollover wreck near county roads 219 and 151 on July 31. Laramie County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the scene finding Sierra J. Deselms,19, of Burns, dead. The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department took Ron Zimmerman, 61, of Burns into custody Sunday evening after Teresa Zimmerman, 51, was found dead. The Pawnee Coyotes experienced two losses Thursday and Friday, despite a good effort and hard work, said Coach Tim Brunelle.
