  • Blood draw comes to Burns, Carpenter

    Two Wyoming Health Fair Blood Draws will take place in Carpenter and Burns later this month. The first blood draw will take place 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Carpenter Elementary School Library. The other will be held 7 a.m.-9 a.m.Feb. 20 at the Burns High School. Laramie County School District 2 Nurse Pam Shults, who organized the blood draws, said low-cost tests will be available to anyone who participates in the blood draws. Tests can range in pricing between $30 and $40, depending on the test. Scults said these tests are reduced in price.... Full story

    Pine Bluffs resident Becky Tekansik was one of 15 Wyoming producers and agribusiness men and women were chosen from around the state to participate in the Wyoming Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program’s Class 13.     The Pawnee Coyotes faced off against Fleming and Otis Friday and Saturday, earning a win and a loss. The Coyotes first played Fleming on Friday, winning 57-46.     Magpul, a firearm accessories manufacturer, announced Jan. 2 it will be relocating its manufacturing, distribution and shipping operations to Cheyenne.     A wreck involving three vehicles resulted in the death of the driver of a pickup truck and left another badly injured in Weld County, Colo. Weld County Sheriff deputies responded to the scene of the wreck at about 6:30 a.m. Dec. 26 on Highway 66 near County Road 13 in the city limits of Mead, Colo.   • Influx of scammers predicted for this holiday season

    The Pine Bluffs Police Department would like to remind residents not to give personal or credit card information out during the holidays. Chief of Police Don Taylor said there is always an influx of scammers this holiday season. “This time of year it always gets worse,” Taylor said.
