    Burns football coach Marv Mirich was recently honored as the 'Coach of the Year' for 2A East Conference. Mirich was also selected as one of the five assistant coaches for the south team at the Shrine Bowl held in Laramie in June. Mirich was named by Shrine Bowl South team head coach Matt VandeBossche of Lusk and will help select the 36 players for the team.     Twenty-one student athletes from Burns attended the University of Wyoming Men's basketball game against Nevada Saturday afternoon as a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Hoops Day.   • Sheriff's Department warns of new phone scam: Sheriff's Department warning about a phone scam using arrest threats about missing jury duty

    The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department has been made aware of another phone scam that is using threats of arrest if individuals do not “pay a fine and fees” for missing jury duty. The Sheriff’s Department and Clerk of the District Court’s Office have received reports from citizens who had a call from an individual claiming that the victim missed jury duty and must pay a fine and fees otherwise a warrant would be issued and they would be arrested.
