The Pine Bluffs Hornets pulled out two wins at the Taco Johns Invitational this weekend. The Hornets started out the weekend with a win over Niobrara County touting a 91-50 score. On Friday the Hornets hosted the Lander Valley Tigers and keeping up the momentum edged out a 64-63 win bringing their season record to 5/3. Saturday’s game between the Burns Broncs and the Southeast Cyclones saw the Broncs pop out early with a three pointer, but by the end of the quarter the Broncs were struggling to keep up as the Cyclones touted an 18 to 7 lead. The second came as just as much of a struggle with the Broncs managing to score only 10 more points to the Cyclones’ pick up of 28. The Burns Lady Broncs met the same fate as their male counterparts when they faced the Southeast Lady Cyclones this last weekend. Despite their best efforts the Lady Hornets were unable to bring home the win against Holyoke this last weekend. Pine Bowl is hosting the 24th annual team challenge this Saturday and Sunday and with 23 teams signed up to bowl, it's looking to be a pretty good time. Teams are required to have a 725 max average, and each team must have at least one female to qualify. Pine Bluffs Library hosted Holiday Hoopla on Tuesday, December 17 for grades Kindergarten through six, and a great time was had by all. Despite the blowing wind and the bitter cold, several people showed up this last Saturday to honor some of Wyoming's fallen veterans in the Wreaths Across America ceremony. While some worked diligently to brush the snow and ice away from the headstones, others placed flags throughout the cemetery marking the graves of the fallen. Plenty of Pigs was the theme for this weeks Fun for Kids at the local library. Kiddos from the daycare center walked over to listen to library worker Mary Cushing as she read stories, led songs, and supervised a counting activity with pigs in mud.
