    After a Hillsdale man's home was severely damaged in a fire, area residents are banding together to lend a helping hand. Hillsdale resident Walt Schaefer suffered severe damage to his kitchen and smoke damage to most of his home at 4226 Main Street, said Ross Heinen, who is helping coordinate fundraising efforts. “He lost some of his best friends, his pets,” Heinen said.     New equipment and help from American Medical Response is breathing new life into the Pine Bluffs Ambulance Service. Pine Bluffs Ambulance Director Derek Walls said the service recently received a special device that performs chest compressions, and performs more efficiently than a human performing CPR.     Revenue and spending look to be up for the town of Burns. Burns town councilors passed the 2016-2017 budget during their monthly meeting April 11. The town anticipates receiving about $344,000 in revenue for the fiscal year, up from $333,000 from last year. Supplemental revenue, funds from the sixth penny sales tax and state supplemental funding, is anticipated to increase from $40,000 to $44,850.     During their April meeting, Albin town councilors discussed earmarking the remaining $3,400 in the Albin field of interest community fund. The fund is intended for charitable works at community revitalization, but additional money has not been put into the fund since 2009.
