I am a life-long resident of Pine Bluffs and as technology has become more important, our small little town has been lagging in its access to what the bigger cities have, much like electricity coming into our town lagged behind the big cities in the 20th century. Pine Bluffs residents with hail-damaged and dying trees on their property have been afforded relief by actions of the town council meeting and through an unexpected insurance windfall. In a proposal presented by town Treasurer Kim Patterson, Pine Bluffs will begin a reforestation project. Ann Hall, 83, of Hereford passed away March 12, 2017 at her home. She was born March 19, 1933 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Claire G. and Addaline Elizabeth (Rowe) Fitzsimmons where she grew up on the family farm and attended school. She met Ronald L. Hall Sr. while he was stationed at Camp Pendleton and they married on October 16, 1958 in Vista, California. Ruth C. Mittan, 99, died Mar. 16, 2017 at Platte County Legacy Home. Ruth was born June 3, 1917 in Wauneta, Wyoming, to Andrew and Karoline Gullicksen. She married Arthur R. Mittan on Feb. 6, 1936. After farming in several locations in southeastern Wyoming, they moved to their farm at Carpenter in 1944, where they raised their three children. The new school boundaries proposed by the Laramie County School District (LCSD) No. 2 have some parents concerned that they will no longer be able to choose the school their children attend.
