Burns town councilors heard a proposal during their monthly meeting Tuesday that could help prevent flooding, but the proposal would also include town residents losing sizable portions of their yards, which officials say extend onto the town's right-of-way. After a snowy start to track and field season, things are finally heating up for the Burns Broncs. The boys and girls visited Niobrara County High School last Friday to take part in the Dennis Zowada Invitational in Lusk. Since last summer, a new veterinarian at Bluffs Veterinary Clinic has been settling into her new digs. Dr. Amy Berry, a Laramie County native, arrived in Pine Bluffs last summer to begin practicing animal medicine. Berry said she is happy to be back in Laramie County - she completed vet school in Washington - and to be practicing in a rural community. "I wanted to come back to Wyoming," Berry said. It's not unusual for the annual Pheasants Forever banquet in Pine Bluffs to be a sellout, but the support is always well-appreciated. "It was excellent.
