    It was a very festive night at the Community Center as the Purple and Gold Legacy Banquet kicked off its second annual banquet. Mike Lerwick, Chairperson of the committee was thrilled with the turn out and happy to see so many people enjoying themselves.     The Mayor gave updates on projects and the council decided on a clean up date at the Albin Town Council meeting on April 13 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Kelly Krakow is having Capital Roofing work on the women's bathroom.     The people were lining up outside of the Burns Elementary gym to get into the event. For 33 years the Carpenter Elementary and Burns Elementary parents groups have been putting on Taco Bingo night. However there was a bit of a hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.   • Two withdraw from Pine Bluffs Town Council Ballot

    After the announcement of the candidates running for the town council of Pine Bluffs, two of the candidates have gone into the town office and have withdrawn from the ballot. Withdrawing from the town council race is Allen Buckendorf and Barbara Martinez.     The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is alive and well in Cheyenne according to Mr. Sheperd. Mr. Sheperd is the Commander of Cadets for the Cheyenne CAP Squadron. The unit has been going on for at least the last 10 years he said. The organization meets every Monday at the ANG Base just off Yellowstone Rd in Cheyenne.     The Hornets track and field team took to the road on Monday to take the trip to Burns for the Burns Invite track and field meet. The weather could not have been better.     The town of Burns hosted the Burns Invite Track and Field meet on Monday. The meet was scheduled for last Saturday but was moved due to weather. Fourteen teams were invited to the meet. It was a beautiful day for a meet and the athletes sure seemed to be happy to be outside instead of in class. The Burns boy's team did well placing second with a total point score of 126.     The Lady Hornets traveled the distance to Burns to compete in the Burns Invite. This meet was scheduled for last Saturday but due to weather was slipped to Monday.     Accolades for the Burns Lady Broncs just keep coming. The state champions have another feather in their cap as Coach Ward has been chosen as one of Wyoming Coaches Association (WCA) Winter Sports 2A Girls Coach of the Year for basketball. Coach Ward led the Lady Broncs to the state championship in the 2022-23 winter sports ladies' basketball season.
