CHEYENNE - Airmen with the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153rd Airlift Wing were hard at work preparing for a deployment last week. They weren't going to a combat zone, nor were they training for it. The 153rd was preparing to help battle wildfires in Colorado. Since the 1970s, the U.S. Forest Service has partnered with the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard to help fight fires. Wyoming's Air Guard unit flies C-130 cargo aircraft. A typical combat mission can involve troop transport or...
A Cheyenne man is looking to unseat Wyoming’s sole U.S. Representative. Rod Miller, a Rawlins Native, says he’s confident he can defeat Republican U.S. Representative Liz Cheney in the August 21 primary. He says Cheney is seldom in Wyoming and has not been open to debate. “If she would just show up and debate me, I’d let her cut my hair,” Miller said. Miller says its not up to him to decide whether Cheney’s absence from the state is a negative. It’s just a different style of campaigning he said. “If that’s a knock, the voters will decide that...

Growing our own food, raising our own meat animals and poulty has been around for hundreds of years. The general population relies on the farmers and ranchers to supply the food we eat. With this need, in the very early days back in the 1600s in Boston, Massachusetts, farmers and ranchers set up in town squares selling the goods to other settlers. They were in fact our earliest grocery stores. As time as advanced and we can go to our local grocery stores for all our needs, the all natural,...
