    Albin mayor Kelly Krakow called the meeting to order, followed with the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes were approved and moving on to old business. The lunch program report was great this month. The mayor update about the web, working on getting it started. Figuring out what they need to put on the web site. The town has more funding coming in.     Pine Bluffs Town Council July meeting opened to standing room only. After the Pledge of Allegiance was said, and agendas approved the council jumped into business. This included approving last month's minutes, claims and payroll, review and approve project/engineering invoices for Mid-America Pool Renovations, resurfacing; Santec for 'Central Deep Well Project and Water System Engineering.     Jim and Marylyn Darden are the 2021 Grand Mashal of Trail Days in Pine Bluffs. The Darden's met in college at West Texas State University. Jim earned a degree in Art and grades first thru twelve. Marylyn received her degree in business. The Darden's were married in 1959. They had two children. Georgeann Wearin and Jim Matt Darden with five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.   • Diseased trees Removed from cemetery grounds

    The Town of Pine Bluffs removed the pine trees in the cemetery on July 7th. The trees have been a feature of the town for years. After the hail storm in 2016 the town has been removing damaged trees throughout the area. The pine trees had the most issues. Mayor Justin Fornstrom said "there were several trees that are aged out or have disease problems. Some of trees were at risk for falling down and not safe for the public."     November 21,1953-June 16,2021 Wesley Bucher, age 67, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2021 at home in Molina, Col'orado. Wesley was born in Greeley, CO to Ortis and Frances (Milholland) Bucher. Throughout his childhood, he lived in Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wyoming. Wesley attended Pine Bluffs Elementary School in the mid 1960's.     Richard E Gardner, 95, of Pine Bluffs died peacefully on July 11, 2021 in the Torrington Hospital. Richard was born on July 19, 1925 to Myles and Ruth (Ernst) Gardner in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1944, he was drafted into the Navy, where he served before returning home to marry Mary Jean (Polly) Boyce on January 14th, 1950. They were married 64 years and together had 5 children.     Cookies by the dozen were home made by the Albin American Legion Auxiliary Ladies to help recruit EMT’s and ambulance drivers for Albin. On Thursday afternoon July 8th the Albin American Legion Auxiliary Ladies brought in two dozen or more cookies each to put in bags for the recruiting table. Two to three cookies were put in each bag and tied up with the legion poppy flower. Each bag was marked if it had peanut butter or nuts to be safe.     Summer time! The time for baseball, softball and t-ball. Pine Bluffs Recreation has softball and pee wee t-ball, t-ball and Sr. t-ball throughout the summer. The towns that have been involved are Albin, Burns, Carpenter, Grover and Pine Bluffs. Each night varies who is playing ball. Monday evening is T-Ball time, starting with Pee Wee T-Ball.     Burns Future Farmers of America put on the breakfast and lunch on Albin day on July 10th. At 8:00a.m. to 9:30a.m. the Burns FFA cooked and served breakfast at the Albin fire department station. They have been serving for over twenty years at the Albin day celebrations. This year the members had pancakes and sausage with orange juice, water, or coffee to drink.
