    A night of questions and making sure the town was ready for Albin Day was on the agenda. The Albin Council had their monthly meeting on Thursday, July 11th. The council had only one building permit for the night. It is the Morales Building, they want to add on a little bit more to the building. The council was concerned about the set backs.     The crowns and sashes were laid out to present to the princesses and the queens for Albin day. Every year the girls that went to Albin Elementary get the honor to be royalty for Albin Day.     Missionaries go on adventures that help others through rough times in other countries. Irene Madler from Burns decided to take her first missionary trip with the Holy Trinity Catholic Church out of Cheyenne. This trip was to Guatemala for six days, and they went to different towns to visit. The group went to a boarding school for girls.     Primary Election Day is August 20, but voters may cast their ballots early beginning Tues., July 23, when the Laramie County Clerk opens the polling place in the atrium of the Laramie County Governmental Complex at 309 W. 20th Street in Cheyenne.     The heat did not sway the Pine Bluffs Roping Club last Friday as they had the first of two 12.5 handicap events. Sixteen ropers showed up for the event and produced 39 teams.     One of the biggest events for Albin Day is the one pitch softball tournament. The tournament has 30 athletes that are divided into three teams. The team members each get a t-Shirt with the Albin Day logo and date and the color of the team that they are on.     Another fun event at the Albin Day celebration is the Horseshoe pitching contest. According to Kelly Krakow, the director of the event, "There aren't as many teams as there have been in the past. But this year there are more young players than there has been." Since the tournament was held later in the day the temperature was not as bad.
