Pine Bluffs is working on getting its very own Eagle Scout. Aiden Asbury completed his Eagle Scout Project his weekend replacing the slats on the nature trail bridge at the rest stop. With the help of his scout master step-father Heath Stecklein and his mother Bobby Asbury, Aiden was hoping to accumulate at least 120 hours for his project. Emma Faust is a winner! This fourth grade student at Pine Bluffs Elementary brought home the state prize for third grade fiction in last year's Young Authors Contest. CHEYENNE: The Laramie County foster home of Melissa and Melinda Stevens has been nominated as a 2019 Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) Angels in Adoption Honoree by Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi, according to the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS). The Hornets saw another defeat this past week with their homecoming game against Southeast. The Broncs suffered a resounding defeat on Friday during their homecoming conference game against the Buffalo Bisons. The Broncs struggled to keep the ball, and couldn't seem to make it to the end zone which resulted in a 41 to 0 loss for the boys. Happy Homecoming for XC too--this week was crazy with the changes to the XC schedule in the 11th hour. The Pine Bluffs/Burns XC team traveled to Fort Collins, Colorado to compete--this meet was much much smaller than in years past. There were 6 races beginning at 3 pm, so it made for a long day. Once again the Laramie County Cowbelles hosted the annual Agricultural Expo at the Archer Complex in Cheyenne. Fourth graders from all over Laramie County showed up to participate in activities involving bees, crops, cows, and weather.
