    Two public introductions were done at the Burns town council on Monday September 27th at 5:30 p. m. Mayor James Clark started the meeting with the normal vouchers being voted on. Mayor Clark reported about a dead tree that needed to be removed at the last meeting. The cost he had found at that time was $400 which was only to cut down the tree, that did not include the cleanup of the debris.     “The Pumpkin Eater” by Steven W. Horn was the discussion for the night. September 21st at the Burns Library. Dinner was served with both book clubs from Pine Bluffs and Burns libraries along with meeting Horn. The two book clubs normally have their own meetings and books but this book gave both clubs the opportunity to meet the author. He was at the library to give insights on how he wrote the book.   • Fundraiser held to help out local resident

    When neighbors are down the community rallies to help. At the Knotty Pine Saloon it was a benefit for Buzz Canady to raise money to help with medical expenses. Canady had contracted the Covid virus this year. He was in the hospital for 21 days and seven of them was in an Intensive Care Unit. Canady even had a stroke or two throughout this time. He has been working hard to recover through rehabilitation. He is now home able to stand for short periods of time occasionally using a walker to help....

    The Pine Bluffs/Burns Cross Country track team traveled to Saratoga to compete in the Shana Ward Memorial Cross Country Invitational meet. There were a total of 11 teams that competed in the meet. Manila school out of Utah was there. Teams from all over the state competed including Fort Washakie, Rawlins, Riverton and Rock River.     The Burns Varsity Volleyball team hosted the team from Wheatland last Friday. The Lady Broncs were ready but fell to the stronger Wheatland team. They lost the match 3-2 taking it to a tie breaker game. The Lady Broncs came out strong winning the first two games. They beat the Wheatland Lady Bulldogs 25-23 and 25-23 in the first two games.     Pine Bluffs Pee Wee football had their first game at Wheatland last week. They won for the first time in six years against Wheatland. Coach Patrick Currie told the team that if they win, the team can shave his hair off at the next practice. Each player took a turn to make a swipe with the electric razor.     On Friday the number two ranked Pine Bluffs Hornets football team traveled to South East High School to do battle with the Southeast football team. The Southeast team is unranked but still a powerful adversary. The Hornets were well aware of this and were well coached and dispatched the Southeast team with authority.
