Saturday saw the completion of the third annual End of the Trail Kite Festival. Despite the cold and the almost 40 mile per hour gusts that were not very kite friendly, the day went off without a hitch. CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A project to replace two structures on WYO 215 between Pine Bluffs and Albin is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 30, and will last several months. The structures are at MM 0.9 over Lodgepole Creek and at MM 1.7 over Spring Creek. Crews with Reiman Corp. will first build detour routes around both bridges that will be in place for the duration of the project. The Pine Bluffs/ Burns team headed over the summit to race in Saratoga today. The weather was perfect for running, 65 and overcast. It only started raining when we got to the Hobo Hot Springs. This is the first time that we have seen most teams in our conference that we will compete at the State Meet in 4 weeks. This was a great state practice since we were at 6800 ft. After learning Burns High School assistant football Colby Ward was diagnosed with cancer, Burns High School faculty and students banded together to raise money to assist Ward and his family with medical bills. This summer, Ward was on a fly-fishing trip when he became ill. Doctors discovered a cancerous mass in his brain. Ward had surgery and is now undergoing chemotherapy.
