The lights will go out in Pine Bluffs for several hours the night of Tuesday, October 30. That’s due in part to the town’s electrical infrastructure being in desperate need of repair, town officials say. Specifically, a substation that the town relies on is outdated and sustained severe damage during the 2016 hailstorm. Because a substation failure would be catastrophic, repairs are planned for the night of October 30. “Without these substation upgrades, our system is very vulnerable to a town-wide power outage that we’re not prepared for,” s...

In "The Essential Oils Handbook", Colleen Dodt called lavender oil her desert island oil. I've changed the wording a bit because the lavender plant has so many more ways to be used than just essential oils. Although the essential oil is the most commonly known product, there are others. Hydrosol, buds and flowers are other ways to use lavender. Not only are there various forms to use the plant, there are many ways to use it. To begin with, you have to know which variety you are working with...
This year's theme was "The road trip to Victory", and that's just what it'll be. This year the boys football team is matched up against Bighorn, a rematch from state. When asked how do you feel about your opponents the average response was they are going to get wrecked. Coming from a back to back state championship its typical that they are so sure of a win. Hopefully their heads don't get too big. The Volleyball girls will be going against the Kimball Longhorns and team the have played against...
My father before me was a United States Air Force veteran. He served over twenty years. My time as a United States Air Force veteran was much shorter. Then came my husband, Jim, who retired at almost twenty-one years. After his retirement, our daughter Rhonda Rasgorshek served active duty in the Wyoming Air Guard. All of us are someone's child who served in the military. As with any branch of service, our soldiers can be sent to a war zone, be assigned to foreign countries where there is unrest and instability. Moms and Dads stand proud of...
