As you may be aware, many of Wyoming's first responders are volunteer, yet maintain the same level of professional licensure as anywhere in the nation. The more rural the area, the greater the need for the medic next door, and we are proud to answer the call for help. Normally we have classes and trauma conferences to keep pace with the demands of the job and required continuing education. This year has been a bit different, so we are doing what our state does best, building our own...
Sadie's opened their doors for a soft opening on Wednesday, September 30 to a group of customers who had long waited to come and dine at the cafe built by Jack Hockersmith and family. The following day was a regular opening, and though the morning was not as busy as the lunch time, it gave the staff time to adjust to new equipment. Veronica, Robyn and Shayna were eager and dealt with the abundance of customers entering. Ronnie, Korbyn and Belle were ready to prepare the food. Local baker, Kelly...
Happy Anniversary! It is with deep gratitude that I wish Wyoming Hunger Initiative an official "happy anniversary" today! When I launched my Initiative last October, I had a very specific goal in mind: to do whatever I could to support anti-hunger nonprofit organizations working tirelessly throughout the state. While this goal hasn't changed, the scope of Wyoming Hunger Initiative has grown in ways no one could have imagined in October 2019. I've often joked with my team in the past year that it feels like we've been building a car as it...
WOW! How about that smoke Saturday morning? I went out to the shop not long after daylight and it was pretty clear when I went out. I spent the morning getting my garlic ready to plant and it was 1 p.m. when I stepped back outside. Needless to say, I was shocked at what I found. All I can say is, "Otherwordly". I don't know what else to call it. The world was yellow, smoke was hugging the ground, and it looked like it was almost night time. I've been in worse, but that was a lifetime ago. A...
