This weekend co-owner Hershey was working at the shop with her girls. Hershey and her family have lived off the Egbert exit for the last two years. Originally from Nebraska, Hershey has...
With the holidays coming up some local families are feeling the pinch more than others. The pressure of buying gifts, cooking meals, entertaining family, and so much more can often be more than a person can handle, especially if that person is already struggling to make ends meet. The Thanksgiving Day meal is known far and wide as a virtual cornucopia of food. In other words, there’s a lot of different stuff that adorns most tables on that day. I remember growing up we always had Thanksgiving dinner at my Grandmother’s house in Gainesville, Florida. The nice thing about Thanksgiving in Florida is that we would still be wearing shorts and T-shirts. No shoes. They were unheard of unless we were going to church or to school. If we were in public, maybe flip flops. But the Thanksgiving meal…OH, THE MEAL! I haven’t seen th...

Serving in the military means often times one is away from home during Thanksgiving time. For many military members their Thanksgiving meal is one provided by the military at the chow hall. This meal, depending upon where the military member is, will depend on whether it is a full fledge traditional turkey dinner with all the normal trimmings and desserts or if their mess tent was able to do a make shift Thanksgiving meal. David J. Parshall, Navy Veteran - Cook saw many holidays aboard ship and...

If you have been a longtime resident of Burns you may be familiar with the farm of William Riedel located at 2439 Road 146. What you may not be aware of is that there is a company out of Isabel, South Dakota called Equine Elite LLC that is trying to buy the farm to create an 80 acre, 5000 head wild horse adoption facility. While in name there is nothing wrong with having that type of facility in the area. There are three in the state of Wyoming at this time.
