    1 years ago Burns, Wyo., Dec. 10 – The new Farmers' elevator here burned to the ground at 11:30 this forenoon. It was full of grain and although the loss is not definitely known, it is understood that both and contents were covered by insurance. This is a bad blow for the farmers of this vicinity for the capacity of both elevators here has been over-taxed to handle the present crop.   • Pine BLuffs native discovers father in 'Looking Back', old photo

    Roberta Marquardt's grandfather Fred Coad looks into the camera during the 1900s. Marquardt brought in this historical photo after checking out the Nov. 21 edition on the Pine Bluffs Post. Marquardt said she recognized her grandfather's name in the 100 years section of "Looking Back". Seeing the name inspired Marquardt to bring in the photograph....

  • Workshop to help crop and range managers weather extreme and extended drought

    Southern Plains farmers and ranchers can register now for a one-day workshop Jan. 9 in Garden City, Kan., to discuss planning for long-term and extreme drought in their operations. The workshop will be at the 4-H building on the county fairgrounds.
