Every year the students look forward to doing cake wars at the Pine Bluffs High School. Mrs. Nicole Sisson teaches the students to think outside of their comfort zone. "The goal of this program is to provide interns with a hands-on internship at a working farm or ranch in Wyoming, in cooperation with state producer organizations and educational institutions," says Kendra Faucett, program coordinator. The Burns Broncs varsity basketball team faced off against the Alliance Bulldogs of Nebraska in a non-conference match-up. The Bulldogs are ranked fourth in their district in Nebraska and have a record of 3-5. The Broncs lost the contest 43-75 to take their seasonal record to 1-7. On Thursday, December 21st, the Lady Broncs hosted the Alliance Bulldogs of Nebraska. The Bulldogs are third in their district and have an overall record of 4-4. The Bulldogs were just a bit more than the Lady Broncs could handle and they beat them 17-37. As a team the Lady Broncs had 30 rebounds and six steals. The Pine Bluffs Hornets basketball program is starting up and the team is looking forward to a great season. Head Coach for the Hornets, Travis Werner said, “This is not a rebuilding season but an enhancement season.” The Hornets graduated the entire starting lineup and will be starting a new crew. The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets have started off the 2023-24 season in good fashion. They competed in the Burns Insurance Winter Classic where they went 3-1. They then traveled across the border to the Sidney tournament where they did not fare so well and went 1-3. The team will defend their 2022-23 state 2A championship status started off with the Burns Insurance Winter Classis tournament.
