  • Safety is Key issue for Burns Town Council

    Karen Lipska|Sep 23, 2021

Town safety is a major concern for Mayor James Clark. He has been wondering about hiring someone to be a town marshal. This is because the Sheriff's departments have not been in the area. He was thinking around 20 hours per week for the individual to work. Mayor Clark knows of some candidates that could possibly fill that role. The individual would not be full time, and they would not have benefits. Plus, they do have a vehicle for that person. This would help with dog issues and to generally help the community to feel safe. Mayor Clark has...

  • Letter to the Editor

    Jackie Fornstrom|Sep 23, 2021

Dear Editor, I am writing to address the article published in the Wyoming Tribune Eagle regarding Kay Dersham’s recent resignation from Laramie County School District #2. One would assume that if Kay genuinely believed the COVID protocols and practices that she insisted upon for the children of LCSD #2, she would practice them at school and in her personal life. However, because Kay lives in our community, I can tell you she most certainly did not. We have unelected bureaucrats from Anthony Fauci down to the local health board, who have r...

  • Fall is upon us and so is harvest Part 2

Mike Heath Laramie County Master Gardners|Sep 23, 2021

Now that the harvest is finished it's time to do something with all of the delicious veggies. Or maybe, like me, you're still harvesting. I was out this morning picking crabapples. Normally I'm not able to harvest them because the wind blows them off the tree before they are ripe. This is only the second time in about 15 years that I've been able to get ripe fruit. I know some of you are saying, "Yuk!" but don't discount crabapples. Although nearly all crabapples are edible that doesn't that...

  • Fall is upon us and so is harvest

Mike Heath Laramie County Master Gardners|Sep 16, 2021

This year I didn't plant much outside. Most everything is going into the hydroponic systems that haven't been built yet. What I did plant outside ended up being about four weeks late, but the harvest seems to be coming a little early. Of course the peppers haven't stopped for the last two years because of the hydroponics and I have to say that it's been nice canning a little bit at a time rather than spending days in the kitchen in one stretch. Most of you will have it all crammed into a tight s...
