Jason Gosselin, Camp Guernsey's Training Center Command supply sergeant, became a hero on the morning of Sept. 15 in Guernsey, Wyo., as he intervened to save a civilian's life.   • Kite flying takes over the bluffs

    Once a year on top of the bluffs in Pine Bluffs the kites are flying big and high. This was the seventh annual End of the Trail Kite Festival. Pine Bluffs Recreation gave out 100 kites free to the first kids through the line. Parents and grandparents were out with the kids teaching them how to set up a kite and how to fly a kite.     A discussion about the water main that broke was one of the topics at the Burns council on September 25th at 5:30 p.m. All the council members minus Rick Lakin were present at the meeting. There were six guests and town clerk Toni Shiery. Dennis Bastian was excited and had the honor to offer his proposal for the Betty’s Wall sign.     CHEYENNE– The Department of Workforce Services Workers’ Compensation Division proposes a significant decrease in workers’ compensation rates. For 2024, the overall rate indication is a decrease of 6.5% compared to the overall Industry Base Rates in 2023.     Farm stands are always fun to go to and see what is new and fresh. The Lucky Buffalo Farm stand has opened up just east of the turn off at Hillsdale on the I-80 highway. The grand opening was in July but they are just getting fresh vegetables now. The owners are Joee Rain Pavlica- Kavi, Tim Kavi, and Nick Pavlica.
