The Hereford Community Church met for their quarterly business meeting Sunday morning. Reports were given and general business discussed. Some of the congregation will be attending a Rockies game on Aug 6. There was discussion on what to do regarding the hail and tornado damage. Well good morning Harrisburg, friends and family near and far. At this time last week it was beautiful looking out of my window, over the hills and through my travels on country roads throughout Banner County. It stayed that way until early evening when the dark blackish purple clouds moved in and most of us had our ears tuned in to the radio, weather alert stations and our eyes trained skyward. This week, Father’s Day, at the Hereford Community Church fathers chose the hymns. The sermon topic was The Minister referring to Paul who served as the father for the churches he established. What a nice change in the weather we woke up to this past Monday. Much, much cooler, and at this point I do not know what the week will bring. Did you make it to Historical Day? I was around very little as I had so much else going on, but I think it was a verily good turn out. I spoke to one friend that attended the class reunion dinner the evening before and they had quite a crowd, which is great to hear. Last week the summer vacation Bible school finished up with about 18 kids attending. That is a pretty good turn out and a nice start to their summer vacation. Summer doesn’t go by any calendar. And that is perhaps why it is such an exciting season. What is prettier to the eye, a fresh looked field rich with potential or full grown acres of crop bursting with yields. Taking time to appreciate each stage of life is similar to farming. This weekend we send our area graduates out into their fresh plowed field, not knowing what they will produce. But the sight is wonderful to see.
