This week at the Hereford Community Church Don and Joyce Smock were celebrating their anniversary. In honor of Father’s Day the men chose the hymns. After the huge hail storm last July I was pretty disgusted by the time we finally had the roof replaced and the house re-painted so I let all of the yard work damage sit all winter long. The middle of June brings much joy and light to our area. Some are remembering past Junes and wedding bells. Some are getting ready to watch some local baseball. The 55 And Up Club met for their monthly potluck luncheon on Friday, June 11, at the Friendship Alliance North Church in Grover. There was a good turnout for the day. Rain rain go away. The old saying of watching what you wish for is certainly true. The weeds think it is great but our lawn mowers sure would like a break. Maybe in June. This past Memorial Day weekend could not have been any nicer and it was wonderful to see the several cemeteries we visited looking so nice. This past Sunday was Mother’s Day. The Hereford Community Church honored the mothers by having them choose the hymns. There was a special guest speaker from the Gideons. Mr. Ed Munson read a tribute to mothers, then he told about the Gideons. They distribute Bibles and New Testaments all over the world.
