While we won’t know for sure how the campaign went for several months, we are all very optimistic about the results. We are hopeful because every day we tested the students were ready to go, and s...

  • Broncs morph into singing pirates and entertained sold out audience

Charlene Smith, Pine Bluffs Post staff|Apr 11, 2013

The energic nervous hum from the music room at Burns high almost sounded like music Friday evening. And so it should. With the cast and crew of Pirates of Penzance dressing, curling, and coloring their faces to resemble pirates, maidens, police and a general, the sounds could pass for a rendition of “Oh, happy day, with joyous glee.” In between the prep work, the cast snacked on doughnuts. One of the maidens called them “self-esteem boosters.” The little glazed circles gave a boost to the cas...

Well, it seemed like we had snow more days last week than any month last winter. It was the nice, light spring snow, and melted quickly. Maybe it helped usher in spring. And spring is here. The irises are sneaking out of the ground, and the green grass is stretching its blades. It might be time to dust off the rakes and hoes, get that yard looking great for the Easter bunny. The Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the baseball field. Contact the community center...

March Newsletter Can you believe that it is already March? It is hard to believe that our students will be gone in a couple of months. Where did the year go? Academics The students have an intense (and extremely important) couple of weeks coming at them. Next week our seventh and eighth graders will be taking the PAWs test. As you will recall, last year we had some groups do extremely well. Looking at those results, I don’t think it is unrealistic to have one of our classes win the Class 2A title. Johnson Family Clock By Michelle Johnson The things we care about the most have stories behind them. A simple clock that adorns a mantel of a home, with all its earned nicks and scratches, is my family’s heirloom. When it was first purchased as a brand new, perfect clock, so many years ago, it had a special meaning behind it. My great grandma’s grandpa bought it for his wife after they had gotten married. They had bought their first home together and she had wanted to have a clock on their fir...
