    The Pine Bluffs shooting team competed in Torrington, Wyoming on Saturday, June 30th, at the state championship tournament. The team did very well. Ethan Bomberger received the 25 Straight patch for his perfect round of 25 in the second round.     Braving stormy skies and some rain before the rodeo began, the Pine Bluffs roping club held the weekly roping competition last Friday. The crowd gathered to see the ropers try to catch the head and heels of the bovine in the fastest time. Sometimes they make it and sometimes they don't.     It was a great performance at the Earl Anderson Memorial Rodeo. The animals were on their game, challenging everyone to their skills.     Ty and Tuf Scarborough, both attending Pine Bluffs Junior/Senior high school have qualified and will attend the Junior and Senior National Rodeo this month. Ty will head to nationals this weekend, which will end on the 9th of June and Tuf will attend Junior Nationals on the 23-29 of June.     The Pine Bluffs Community Center hosted a bike rodeo last Friday. The event was attended by more than 22 young riders and their parents. The Recreation Department has been putting this on for about the last 30 years.     The tractors were lined up and the people were seated in their lawn chairs to enjoy a couple of days of tractor pulling. The annual tractor pull in Carpenter was June 1st and 2nd. This is held on the farm of Ivan and Kim Kranz. There is plenty of room for the contestants to unload tractors and be able to pull the distance.     The Pine Bluffs Roping Club braved the stormy skies last Friday for their second rodeo of the season. The storms held off for the night with only a little rain that kept the arena dust down.     The Pine Bluffs Roping Club kicked off its 2024 season with a Team Roping rodeo last Friday evening. The cows were fast, and the cowboys and cowgirls' ropes were looped and swinging. The event attracts ropers from all over the area, Cheyenne, Bridgeport, Carpenter, Potter and many other cities.     Safe to say that the Broncs boys’ sports season for 2023-24 has had a rough time. The football team and the basketball team each only won one game in the season.
