Sierra Starr isn't like most twelve-year-old girls. The Panhandle Senior Women’s Golf Association met on a beautiful Monday, June 5 for a fun day of golf at the Riverview Golf Course with 61 ladies in attendance. Last Friday night signaled the start of the 2017 Friday Night Roping and Barrel Racing series in Pine Bluffs. This is the second year for the series, which replaced the Double Bar G Rodeo last summer. The Pine Bluffs Roping Club will open the 2017 Roping and Barrel Racing Series this Friday night at the rodeo grounds in Pine Bluffs. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the action starts at 6 p.m. The eight-week season is scheduled for every Friday night from June 2 through July 21. Contestants can enter up to two times in each roping. The Pawnee 2017 track and field season came to a close on May 20 with the CHSAA Class 1A State Championships in Lakewood, Colo. In team standings, the boys finished ninth out of 36 teams who placed. With the 2017 Shrine Bowl just a little over a week away, final roster changes have been made and three local athletes will be suiting up for the South. The Wyoming Coaches Association recently released its list of All-State selections for track and field.
