    Duck and goose hunters are reminded to purchase the 2015-16 Migratory Waterfowl Hunting and Conservation Stamp, or federal “duck stamp.” The stamp, featuring a ruddy duck, is available at post offices and some Cowboy State sporting goods stores. “The federal duck stamp is one of the most efficient conservation programs in the country.     During the license purchasing process, hunters have the option to provide the Wyoming Game and Fish Department with their email address. This allows Game and Fish to follow up with hunters by providing them harvest surveys in a much more cost effective manner.     The Burns Lady Broncs traveled north, last week, to compete in the Big Horn Tournament at Big Horn schools. Facing off against teams from all over the states, Burns won four of the 10 games they participated in. Day one saw the Lady Broncs squaring off against Thermopolis.     A road trip up to Newcastle leave the Burns Broncs still searching for their first win of the season. Burns was able to get one touchdown in a 56-7 routing by the Dogies.     The Pawnee Coyote football team traveled to Briggsdale to play the Falcons and came home victorious winning 48-28. Senior Luke Duggan led the Pawnee scoring effort with six touchdowns.     Hunters now have an extra month to purchase preference points with the recent change of the preference point deadline from Sept. 30 to Oct. 31. The preference point deadline will be even longer this year – to Nov. 2 since Oct. 31 is on a weekend. When application deadlines fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline is extended to the next business day. Seasons open for a variety of small game and upland bird species on September 1. Blue and ruffed grouse, often referred to as mountain grouse season opened Tuesday.
