The Burns/Pine Bluffs indoor track team competed in the Mustang Invite indoor track meet held in Casper, Wyoming. The team did well when you consider the weather and the long trip to Casper. Several of the competitors were able to break the top 10 while the girl’s 4x800m relay team broke into the top three with a third-place finish. Madison Foley, the Burns Broncs volleyball defensive specialist signs with the Colby Trojans. Foley who set two school records in her tenure at Burns High School signed a "Letter of Intent" with Colby Community College to play volleyball for the Trojans. Tehya Gallegos has decided to continue her athletic career at Miles City Community College at Miles City, Montana. Gallegos signed a "letter of intent" with the Miles City Pioneers volleyball team last Thursday in the Chute at Burns High School. The Broncs varsity basketball team ran into a storm as they tipped off against the Southeast Cyclones. The Broncs were trying to improve on their season, but the strong Cyclones were just too much, and they fell 37-51. It was another sad loss for the Broncs. The Lady Hornets played a good game in the middle but let the Lady Doggers start and finish in good fashion. The Burns/Pine Bluffs wrestling team competed in Riverton, Wyoming last weekend. The boys and girls teams fought some hard battles against more than 35 different teams. The girls fared well and placed 20th in a field of 39 schools. The boys team is still young and in need of experience as they placed 38th out of 44 teams. In a very close conference game the Hornets gave the Tigers everything they could and held the game close till the end. Tayten Zitek and the rest of the Cheyenne East golf team have been selected to represent the state of Wyoming at a national golf tournament in April. Zitek, the son of Chris and Amy Zitek and grandson of Jim and Kate Zitek, and the rest of the Cheyenne East golf team won the state 4A championship last year.
