    The Pine Bluffs Hornets basketball program is starting up and the team is looking forward to a great season. Head Coach for the Hornets, Travis Werner said, “This is not a rebuilding season but an enhancement season.” The Hornets graduated the entire starting lineup and will be starting a new crew.     The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets have started off the 2023-24 season in good fashion. They competed in the Burns Insurance Winter Classic where they went 3-1. They then traveled across the border to the Sidney tournament where they did not fare so well and went 1-3. With a current record of 4-4 the Lady Hornets have some work to do for the rest of the season.     The Burns Broncs varsity basketball team has started their 2023-24 season by participating in two tournaments. The Broncs were still trying to kick off the dust and get back into the basketball-playing mode as they played. They went one and three in their first tournament and 0-4 in their second.     The Burns Lady Broncs varsity basketball team has started off the 2023-24 season with a bang. The team will defend their 2022-23 state 2A championship status started off with the Burns Insurance Winter Classis tournament. The Lady Broncs went 4-0 in the tournament and showed why they are the state champions. Last year the Lady Broncs saved their best playing for the play-offs. The team did not do as well as they wanted but some individuals did well enough to get recognition. As a team the boys finished 14th overall and the girl's finished 10th.     Two Pine Bluffs middle school wrestlers qualified for the WAWA (Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association) Middle School State meet last weekend.
