    The Lady Hornets volleyball team started the 2024-25 season winning all four of their matches in a tournament. The Lady Hornets faced the Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings, Hulett Lady Devils, Kaycee Lady Buckaroos and the Upton Lady Bobcats.     The Lady Broncs Volleyball team kicked off the 2024-25 season in a tournament where they faced the Wright Lady Panthers, Glenrock Lady Herders and Newcastle Lady Dogies. This was the first game for Anndee McKinney and the team for the season and much was learned in the tournament. The team ended up losing all three matches.     After a very disappointing season last year the Burns Broncs football team has begun the long process of rebuilding.     The Pine Bluffs Roping Club had their second 12.5 handicap team roping event last Friday. The club usually puts on a 10.5 handicap event but for a couple of nights move it to a 12.5 handicap.     Brady McKinney, a fifth grader at Burns Elementary School found gold at the Pine Bluffs Trail Days Junior Rodeo On Saturday, August 3. McKinney won the gold belt buckle in the junior breakaway event. McKinney has been competing for the past three years and is very good at it.     The Pine Bluffs Roping Club held its seventh roping event of the 2024 season last Friday night. The event held at the Pine Bluffs arena drew more than 45 ropers in what could be called the dust bowl of the season.     Pine Bluffs Trail Days kicked off with the 24th annual 5K/1 mile Longhorn Stampede Fun Run/Walk. The event started at 7 am on Saturday at the Pine Bluffs Community Center.     Beau Scarborough, a Pine Bluffs High School graduate, qualified to compete in the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. Scarborough competed as a permit member and did very well.
