Travis Romsa led the charge Friday and Saturday as he aided the Burns Broncs to victory over Southeast and Potter-Dix. Romsa put 16 points on the board for the Broncs on Friday in the team’s 52-29 win over the Cyclones. Romsa accounted for 22 of the 56 points the Broncs scored as the team outpaced Potter-Dix, 56-44.
Romsa’s scoring was not the only outstanding part of his performance, as he earned a double-double in each contest by pulling down 17 boards on Friday and 15 on Saturday.
Ten players were in the scoring column on Friday and nine on Saturday.
“We had a nice weekend, picking up two big wins at home,” said coach Sean Patterson. “It was nice to see so many kids contribute both nights not only in the scoring column, but defensively. We had great effort all weekend and some awesome execution at times.”
On Friday, Colby Ward followed his teammate into double digits, connecting for 14 points. The team pulled down 40 boards on the night. Cody Leader tacked 10 on in Saturday’s game, and the team combined for 45 rebounds. The Broncs were 78 percent from the charity stripe against Potter-Dix.
“We are still working hard to become more consistent,” Patterson said. “We look to keep this momentum going.”
On Tuesday, the Broncs faced off with Harrisburg at home. On Thursday, they will be on the road to play Southeast. They will finish up the week playing host to Saratoga on Saturday.
