The things we care about the most have stories behind them. A simple clock that adorns a mantel of a home, with all its earned nicks and scratches, is my family’s heirloom. When it was first purchased as a brand new, perfect clock, so many years ago, it had a special meaning behind it. My great grandma’s grandpa bought it for his wife after they had gotten married. They had bought their first home together and she had wanted to have a clock on their fireplace mantle. So he had gone into town and had traded his favorite watch in exchange for the clock.
