Wheat in, planting moving forward

Pine Bluffs Feed and Grain is reporting the wheat harvest for this region is complete. Although the quantity wasn’t outstanding, the quality was good if not better than other local regions.

Pine Bluffs Feed and Grain employee Jessica Fornstrom said most bushels had a good test weight between 59 and 62, “and some were even better than that.” Protein averaged between 12 and 16 with 5-15 bushels per acre yield for most farmers through the local elevator.

Harvest was slowed this year by the rain.
