A set of holding tanks nine miles north of Burns and owned by Wolfman Energy were struck by lightning Friday afternoon. fifty-six vehicles, 35 of them fire fighting related, responded to the mutual aid call from Laramie County Fire District No. 6 which was first to respond.
The 8,500 storage tanks were hit by lightning around 5:30 p.m. LCFD 6 firefighter Riley McNamar said he began receiving phone calls about 5:30 p.m. of a prairie fire and a structural fire in the area.
