Serving all of Eastern Laramie County since 1908
Homecoming is about the former students coming home to visit, the current seniors being honored and maybe a little about the hero athletes conquering a win against the enemy.
Both teams were lifted to a win from the pep rally given by the school and the fans in the stands.
The pep rally brought back a time honored tradition. After Emily Ellis welcomed everyone, and athletic director Kathy Adams announced the senior class won the hallway decoration contest with their Batman front hall decor, the new teachers from the last two years were called upon to show off their best Coyote call. It was obvious, even though there was no official vote, that all the new teachers had the Coyote spirit.
At the end of the rally, coach Doug Miller admitted the football team was 0-4, but believed they could keep their season alive with a win at homecoming. And win they did, 50-33.
During halftime of the football game, the royalty was crowned. Attendants were freshman Brook Mercer and Drew Ellis, sophomores Brandi Vigil and Luke Duggan, juniors Matilde Rima and Jaydee Johnston and the king and queen were Austin Burson and Emily Ellis.
