The Pine Bluffs Lions Club will be raising funds for sight preservation with its second annual Souper Bowl. Held the week after the NFL Super Bowl, this Pine Bluffs version pits local cooks submitting their favorite soup or bread recipes in a cook-off.
On Sunday, Feb. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Sixth and Main streets, the public is invited to come sample the entries and cast their votes for their favorites.
Samplers will be able to sample all of the entries.
Prize money will be awarded for the top 3 entries in each of the 2 categories.
Entry forms may be picked up at various locations, including Farmers State Bank, Points West Bank, Pine Bluffs Town Hall, Burns Town Hall, Texas Trail Market, Carpenter Elementary School, Pine Bluffs Library, Bluffs Insurance, Farm Bureau Insurance, and Wyoming Bank & Trust.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wyoming Lions Blind Camp and other sight preservation activities.
