Lucile L. Thompson, 90, of Pine Bluffs, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Life Care Center.
She was born Dec. 12, 1923 in Kleanburn, Wyo., daughter of Nick and Lucia (Paolone) Julio. When she was 5, the family moved to Thermopolis where Julio found work in a coal mine. Upon the premature death of her mother in 1940, she and youngest sister, Jean, went to live with her older sister and husband, Rose and John Fowler in Ucross.
Lucile married Kenny Thompson on Feb. 3, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral in Cheyenne. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived life fully with honesty, a keen sense of humor, years of community service and a deep spiritual faith.
Survivors include two sons, James Thompson and John (Julie) Thompson, three grandchildren, Truett (Rachel) Thompson, Damien Thompson; Chelsea (Mike) Hansen and one great grandchild, Trystin Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny on Jan. 28, 1980, parents, sisters, Ida Rotolo, Rose Fowler, Mary Julio, Delma Latham, Jean O'Connor, and brother, Tony.
Rosary was recited on Tuesday, March 18 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Pine Bluffs. Funeral Liturgy was held Wednesday, at 1 p.m. also at the Church. Interment of her urn followed at Pine Bluffs Cemetery.
Services under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Children's Home in Torrington; the Texas Trail Museum in Pine Bluffs or to St. Paul's Church.
